Would you like to know how dogs talk in Welsh, English and German, or how to say that you’re hungry in Spanish and Welsh? This multilingual workshop, led by Welsh poet and National Eisteddfod winner Mererid Hopwood, concentrates on the rhythm of words and sentences introducing three or four languages all at once. Through this playful session, you’ll enjoy learning new languages and also how to listen very carefully to rhythm and rhyme.

Cerdd Iaith is a British Council Wales developed programme initially funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Teacher Development Fund and delivered in partnership with BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Yr Athrofa – the Centre for Education at University of Wales Trinity St David – and Ein Rhanbarth ar Waith (ERW). It is now exploring new languages supported by Aberystwyth University, the Goethe Institute, Ceredigion County Council and Welsh Government.

A hoffech chi wybod sut y mae cŵn yn siarad yn Gymraeg, Saesneg ac Almaeneg, neu sut mae dweud 'mae eisiau bwyd arnaf i’ yn Sbaeneg ac Almaeneg? Bydd y gweithdy amlieithog hwn, o dan arweiniad y Prifardd Mererid Hopwood, yn canolbwyntio ar rythm geiriau a brawddegau, gan gyflwyno tair neu bedair iaith ar yr un pryd. Drwy’r sesiwn chwareus hwn, bydd disgyblion yn mwynhau dysgu ieithoedd newydd a dysgu sut y mae gwrando’n ofalus ar rythm ac odl.

Datblygwyd rhaglen Cerdd Iaith yn wreiddiol gan y Cyngor Prydeinig yng Nghymru â nawdd gan Gronfa Datblygu Athrawon Sefydliad Paul Hamlyn, a’i darparu mewn partneriaeth â Cherddorfa BBC Cymru, Yr Athrofa, PCYDDS ac Ein Rhanbarth ar Waith (ERW).
