Dylan Moore and Antonio Ruiz-Camacho in conversation with Ingrid Bejerman

Reflections on Exile: Finding Home Elsewhere

Arequipa 2018,
The author Dylan Moore has been awarded the 2018 Creative Wales Hay Festival International Fellowship/Cymrawd Rhungwladol Cymru Greadigol Hay Festival, and will be visiting all our festivals worldwide over the next 12 months. Against a backdrop of record numbers of displaced people across the world, Dylan Moore reflects on the tension between ideas of 'the outsider' and 'belonging' in the way we construct our identities. Antonio Ruiz-Camacho, winner of the Jesse H Jones Award 2015, a Kirkus Reviews Best Book of 2015, for Barefoot Dogs, writing in English about the members of a Mexican family forced to flee their country, brings the terror, sadness, tenderness and intimacy as well as the class absurdities of contemporary Mexican life into that most traditional of American forms, the realist short story. In Conversation with Ingrid Bejerman.
