The crime novel

Arequipa 2022, 

The distinguished writer, journalist, dramatist and screenplay writer Claudia Piñeiro (Argentina) is a major figure in Latin American literature. She has won the 2005 Clarín Novel Prize, the 2010 Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize and the 2019 Metrópolis Azul Prize, among others. Together with Marcelo Piñeyro she created the Netflix serie El Reino. Her work has been translated into over 20 languages, and she has written contemporary classics including Thursday Night Widows (2010), All Yours (2011), A Crack in the Wall (2013) and Elena Knows (2021) as well as an extensive body of other titles, a number of which have been made into films. Her most recent novels in Spanish are Catedrales (2020), which has achieved excellent reviews and has won the 2021 VLC Negra Best Novel award and the Hammett Prize for Crime Writing in 2020; and El tiempo de las moscas (2022).
