Both Carlos Granés (Colombia) and Alberto Vergara (Peru) are experts when it comes to analysing and understanding current affairs, and also in making them comprehensible to others. With El rugido de nuestro tiempo, the Colombian essayist Carlos Granés continues his task of dissecting the present: a time of messianic politicians and artists who sacrifice transgression to yield to the latest moral demands. To understand the noise of our times, there is nothing better than listening to Granés. Vergara has recently co-edited the first volume of Perú global, in which around 20 researchers bring together various facets of the country’s recent history, set in the context of the global reality.
