Alberto VERGARA

(Lima, 1974) A lecturer with the Department of Social and Political Sciences at the University of the Pacific (Lima). He has taught classes on Latin American politics at the University of Montreal, at Sciences Po (Paris and Poitiers) and at Harvard University. He has published books and academic articles on multiple political issues. His essays and articles have appeared in Spain’s El País, The New York Times, Letras Libres, and others. He is the author of the books Ciudadanos sin república, Ni amnésicos ni irracionales and Repúblicas defraudadas, and co-editor of the book of collective essays La condena de la libertad.
