Pilar del Río presents the screening of the documentary ‘Pilar and José’

Pilar del Río, wife of the great Portuguese writer José Saramago and president of the foundation that bears his name, will be responsible for presenting the documentary Pilar and José, by Portuguese film maker Miguel Gonçalves.

 

Towards the end of his life, José Saramago was aware that death was encroaching upon him and his “only goal”, such as the documentary reflects, was to “live each day”. In this film, the viewer will see the man who thinks, who faces the day to day never gives up; a man capable of dreaming, imagining and loving” as del Río points out.
