Engineer, entrepreneur, columnist, educator and diplomat. Founder of APOYO. Senior Lecturer at the University of the Pacific and the institution’s rector between 2004 and 2006; Ambassador of Peru to the United States (2006–2009); President of the Transparencia Civil Association (2014–2016). He has served as an independent member of corporate boards and the governing boards of non-profit organizations. Author of several books and a speaker at various events. Recipient of the 1990 IPAE Award, the 2009 Hipólito Unanue Medal for Economic and Financial Merit, the 2025 Harvard Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2026 ProUNI Legacy Medal. Awarded the Grand Cross of the Orden del Sol in 2026.
