Vidya NARINE

writes about how we inhabit capitalism and the possibilities of moving beyond it. She has published two novels with Les Avrils: Orchidéiste (2023) —translated into Spanish (Las Afueras) and German (Schöffling)— which addresses the extraction and exploitation of natural resources through the history of orchids and the life of a young Parisian orchid grower; and Le ciel est mon drapeau (2025), which focuses on state racism through the forgotten history of French Indochina and the author's maternal lineage. Vidya Narine runs the literary magazine Sève, which bridges literature, the visual arts and ecology, annually publishing thirty authors, ranging from emerging talents to established figures. She lives in Paris with her children.
