Carlos Mauricio Alvarez Ambroncio (Arequipa, 2001), known as Mauricio Ambrossio, is a journalist, cultural manager, artist and photography instructor. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences from the National University of San Agustín and studied at the Instituto Thomas Jefferson. He teaches photography —specifically courses on Visual Analysis and Philosophy and Photography— at the School of Contemporary Photography in Arequipa. He has exhibited his work on various occasions, including at Blue Requiem (Umbral Centro Cultural, 2022), Amor a la Plata (Instituto Thomas Jefferson, 2023), La Otra Ciudad (Centro Cultural UNSA, 2024), Fitografías (Centro Cultural UNSA, 2025), El Origen del Mundo (Mercaderes 72, 2025), Morfogénesis (Umbral Centro Cultural, 2025), Desde nuestros lentes (Centro Cultural Peruano Norteamericano, 2025) and La Sal y la Plata (Casa Blanca, 2026). He manages the Pukámara platform for publicising and promotion of photography. He coordinated the 3rd Arequipa Photography Biennial.
