Rossana Díaz Costa (Lima, 1970) is a film director and producer, writer and university lecturer. She studied Literature at the Universidad Católica, earned a doctorate in Literary Studies from the University of A Coruña (Spain), and studied filmmaking at the School of Image and Sound in A Coruña and the Madrid Film School (ECAM). Her short story collection Los Olvidados (no los de Buñuel, los míos) took second place in Peru's National Fiction Award in 2005. Her short documentary En Camino (1996) won the BBC’s One World Award. Her debut feature film, Viaje a Tombuctú (2013), won several awards, including one for Best Fiction Feature and a number of audience awards. Her second feature film, Un Mundo para Julius (2021), has been released in over 30 countries worldwide; it was nominated for Best Film at the Gaudí Awards (Spain) and won Luces Awards (Peru) for Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress.
