In 2023, Hay Festival made alliances with international organisations to create two anthologies for thinking about the world we live in, in the light of the complex history that has moulded us. Exploradores, soñadores y ladrones was created together with the British Museum, and for the book six writers dived into the museum collections in order to bring to the surface a new compilation of texts that question and reimagine predominant narratives. The project Verdades compartidas was run together with the International Center of Transitional Justice (ICTJ). This anthology offers the writings of ten Latin American authors who imagine and write about Colombia after the peace process. Selva Almada(Argentina), a contributor to the British Museum book, andNona Fernández (Chile), a participant in Verdades compartidas, will talk toAna Cristina Restrepo about the two projects.
