Whisperings
POETIC ACTION /POETRY READING
Venue: Plaza Mayor, Segovia
Passerby in Segovia’s main square will have the opportunity to take part in this project to bring the classics alive by listening to poetry read out loud in the intimate setting of the street. Twenty actors will be reciting poems, some of them by writers taking part in this year’s Hay Festival Segovia, among them, Antonio Lucas, Antonio Colinas, Javier Rodríguez Marcos, Clara Janés, José María Muñoz Quirós, Carlos Aganzo, Luis Alberto de Cuenca, Pablo Jiménez Burillo, Owen Sheers and Andres Neuman, along with works by such universally acclaimed poets such as Santa Teresa de Jesús, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, María Zambrano, Dante, Federico Garcia Lorca and Juan Ramón Jimenez.

Jointly organised with the Aula de las Artes, the Interuniversity Institute for Cultural Communication and the Vice-Presidency for Communication and Culture of the Carlos III University, Madrid, with financing from the EU’s Crossing Stages project.
