Baroness Helena Kennedy and Laura Freixas

Misogyny

Segovia 2017,

In 2012, Human rights lawyer Baroness Helena Kennedy QC became the first female co-chair of the International Bar Association's Human Rights Institute. She talks to Spanish writer and journalist Laura Freixas about her four decades in law, and the changes that she and her colleagues have wrought in that time, and what still remains to be done, not just in the way the law treats women but throughout our society. Laura Freixas, who aside from her own novels and essays works to promote Spanish female writers, provides insight into how Spanish society has slowly changed in its attitudes toward women.
