Es necesario navegar is a performance-lecture that examines the inseparable relationship between human beings, literature and the sea — spanning everything from the Epic of Gilgamesh (written in 2100 BCE) to the video art of French artist Sophie Calle, and from Homer’s Odyssey to Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe. Javier Peña invites the audience to embark with him on a one-hour voyage, accompanied only by the sea and a handful of stories.
