Gonzalo Zegarra, who studied Law at Peru’s Pontificia Universidad Católica and did a Master’s in the discipline at Yale, is the former editor of Semana Económica and is a member of major press councils. He will talk about his book La democracia del click y del TikTok, which deals with the challenges of the social media for politics, highlighting both their capacity to democratise public voices as well as their potential for creating intolerance and polarisation, emphasising the need to reinvent democratic institutions in the digital era.
