Two highly respected French scientists, Ghislaine Dehaene-Lambertz and Stanislas Dehaene, will talk with the Colombian-French philosopher and specialist in education, Nelson Vallejo-Gómez, about the different learning and teaching processes involved in the first years of a human life. Ghislaine Dehaene-Lambertz seeks to understand how the brain’s early learning conditions are moulded by culture and context, while Stanislas Dehaene tells us how the brain’s most amazing characteristic is its ability to learn, since it can not only adapt to circumstances and contexts, but also eat, sleep, protect itself and reproduce, as well as act as a compass for navigating seas of uncertainty, and discover the unknown. This session is a must for students of various disciplines, and they will have the opportunity to put questions to these three knowledgeable guests.
