Ulises Gutiérrez Llantoy and David Silva Rojas in conversation with Luis Rodríguez Pastor

From the Andean sky streaked by Halley's Comet to the agricultural fields of Ica, contemporary Peruvian literature is also told from the perspective of a rural world in transformation. Nuestra luz en la noche, by Ulises Gutiérrez Llantoy, intertwines the Andean worldview with Western science and transforms the sky into an observatory of existence. Donde trabaja el agua, with which David Silva Rojas won the Almadía-Ventosa-Arrufat International Novella Prize, follows the story of a young woman who leaves her community to work temporarily as a farm labourer in Ica. Both authors will speak to their fellow writer Luis Rodríguez Pastor about how to inhabit their own territory within the pages of fiction.
