Peter Singer (Australia) is a philosopher and Bioethics lecturer, known for his international bestseller, Animal Liberation, and for his essays on global poverty. His most recent book, Ethics in the Real World, compiles 83 of his articles covering his thought on subjects that are impossible to ignore, such as abortion, euthanasia and animal rights. In conversation with Mauricio Diazgranados

Melba Escobar is the author of the novels Duermevela (2010), Johnny y el mar (2014), House of Beauty and La mujer que hablaba sola (2019), which have been translated into various languages. Her first non-fiction work, Cuando éramos felices pero no lo sabíamos, a book about the complex relationship between Colombia and Venezuela, a work given depth by the author’s travels to the neighbouring country in 2019 and 2020. Escobar is also a columnist for El Tiempo newspaper. The writer and journalist Margarita Posada is the Creative Director of a narrative advertising firm. Her most recent book is Las muertes chiquitas, a profoundly personal work in which the author tells the story of how, after a trip to Europe, she had to live with the condition that makes everything turn opaque and grey: depression. They will talk to the journalist David Lara.
With a five-decade music career, Rubén Blades (Panama), a living legend of salsa, has released around 30 albums recorded solo or in collaboration with other major figures in Latin American music, such as Willie Colón and Héctor Lavoe. He has won many different Latin Grammys in different categories, been awarded the Spanish Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts, and has three honorary doctorates from US universities. As an actor he has participated in over 30 productions. He was the Panamanian Minister of Tourism from 2004 to 2009. Sometimes called the “intellectual of salsa”, he is the author of songs that will always be in fashion, including “Amor y control” and “Decisiones” and will talk about his career with Mábel Lara.
